The luster of a fleece
The luster of a fleece is something sort after by spinners. The luster is when the fleece has an obvious luminous light refraction, in other words the fleece appears to glow. It is highly valued by experienced specialty spinners although not a high a requirement for commercial breeders or growers.
The Flow of Luster through to the Garment
The fleece needs to have a definite softness to the touch for the luster (luminous glow) to flow through to the garment. The softness is also usually associated with fineness in wool but can also be present in some of the medium fleece breeds.
